The operator of a dog grooming facility approached the Effingham County Economic Development Advisory Board Monday about funds to expand her business.

Kristy Nosbisch is interested in purchasing a site in Effingham to develop and operate a dog daycare facility on the east side of town. The project is contingent on funding and on a rezoning of the property on which Nosbisch wants to locate the facility.

The Effingham City Plan Commission is to consider an amendment to the city zoning ordinance Tuesday night that would permit animal kennels like the one Nosbisch is proposing.

The other issue is securing sufficient collateral. Nosbisch is working on that issue.

Nosbisch is hopeful of a $21,600 loan from the Advisory Board, to be paid back at 3% interest over five years. Her business is known as "Flying Fur".
