Effingham Resident Injured in Crash Early Sunday

An Effingham resident was injured in a single-vehicle crash just after midnight Sunday morning.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a car driven by 19-year-old Austin Paul Frazier of Effingham was traveling on Rickelman Avenue, west of North 4th Street when Frazier lost control of the vehicle. The car ran off the right side of the roadway, crossed the ditch, and came to a stop in a field.

Frazier was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. He was cited for texting while driving, and no insurance.
