Altamont Teen Injured in Tuesday Crash

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports the crash occurred at 11:44am on 100th Street on the west edge of the county, a short distance south of 1100th Avenue in Mound Township.

Deputies report a car driven by 16-year-old Adrianna Harris of Altamont was southbound when she lost control of the vehicle. The unit struck the ditch and overturned, coming to rest on its top in the ditch on the east side of the roadway.

Harris was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. She was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
