Library Supports Soon to be Famous Author Project

The Effingham Public Library has announced its support for the Soon to be Famous Illinois Author Manuscript Project, which in a manuscript contest open to aspiring authors.

The Famous Illinois Author Project is a state-wide competition that aims at identifying and promoting excellent self-published fiction. The winner of the Manuscript Contest will automatically be entered into the Famous Illinois Author Project Contest as a semi-finalist.

Authors are invited to send in their best unpublished works of adult fiction that are 50,000 to 100,000 words in length. Other requirements include a title page containing working title, author name, word count, a 50-word or less synopsis and a 100-word, or less author biography.

The winner of the manuscript contest will receive professional line editing, professional cover design, guidance from the STBF committee and past winners, and entry into the STBF Illinois Author Project Contest as a semi-finalist.

Submissions will be accepted through Jan. 2.
