A representative of Effingham Area Alzheimer's Awareness spoke with Effingham Noon Rotarians at their meeting December 26.
Shannon Nosbisch helped form the Awareness group after experiencing the struggles of her mother-in-law with the disease.
Since then, the group has touched entities in a seven-county area with their information designed to heighten awareness. The goal is to create Dementia-friendly communities, places where people living with dementia are supported to live a high-quality life with meaning, purpose and value in the words of the organization's literature.
Kory Doty served as Rotary weekly program chairman.
