Clearing Up the Sales Tax Question

The report we aired on this week's Teutopolis school board meeting created some confusion about the 1% sales tax question.

What the story SHOULD have shared was that school boards representing more than 50% of the students in the county must pass a resolution to get the question on the April ballot. Once the question is on the ballot, it takes a simple majority to vote Yes on the question to pass the question and enact the sales tax.

Enough boards have passed the resolution and the question will be on the April 2nd ballot.
