Members of the local Harley Owners Group teamed up with two local businessmen to provide the cost of three Honor Flights.
The giving was the result of a Central Illinois HOG Chapter meeting. Member Dave Keck had just returned from his own Honor Flight and shared his experiences. That led to helping cover the cost so other veterans could take their own Honor Flight.
The HOG Chapter had received a donation from Boris Bonutti of Joint Active Systems. Paul Gutman of Legacy Harley Davidson offered the match the donation from Bonutti as well as what funds were raised in the room that evening.
By the end of the meeting, the Chapter members were able to raise $1,425, which is enough to sponsor three veterans to go on a Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
If you know someone interested in an Honor Flight, applications for both veterans or chaperones are available at the bar area at the Effingham VFW Post Home. Land of Lincoln Honor Flight also has a Facebook page. You can also learn more about the Harley Owners Group on their Facebook page.
