The Equity, one of the largest independent cooperatives in Illinois has signed an agreement to purchase Pruemer Precision a dealer for Precision Planting, 360 Yield Center, & Yetter based in rural Teutopolis, IL. The new venture will officially begin in January 2019 and operate out of The Equity’s Montrose location.

“Pruemer Precision will be an excellent addition to our current service and product offerings. Adding Pruemer Precision is another step towards The Equity’s goal of increased yields and profitability for our customers,” says Tim Bence, The Equity’s Vice President of Agronomy.

“Pruemer Precision has built a business around increasing yields and profitability for farmers while holding itself to a high standard of customer service which is a perfect fit with The Equity’s culture,” said Bence. As the location will change, the foundation of the business will remain the same. Bence said, "Current customers can expect the high level of innovation, integrity, and customer service to continue throughout the transition and into the future. Doug Pruemer has agreed to work as a consultant helping make this a smooth transition for customers. Kyle Dasenbrock and Kyle Pruemer who have helped build the business into what it is today, will be staying with the company and driving it into the future."

“We are excited about the experience and expertise Kyle Dasenbrock and Kyle Pruemer bring to our organization.” says Bruce Vernon, The Equity’s Chief Executive Officer. “The synergies between The Equity’s Agronomy department and Pruemer Precision will lead to increased value for our customers.”

“I’m excited about the resources and opportunity The Equity can bring to our current customers. I’m very proud of the business we have built and would not pass it to anyone who would not bring added value to our customers and employees.” says Doug Pruemer, President of Pruemer Precision. “I feel The Equity is the best fit to take our business to the next level. Not once do I take for granted the relationships we were able to build over the years and the support our customers have provided to Jodie's and my business. We are looking forward to watching The Equity grow this business into its fullest potential. Handing the business off to The Equity will allow us to concentrate on our family’s roots, farming.”

The Equity’s mission is delivering value to its customers through operational excellence, providing information, exploring opportunities, and supporting profitable roles for producers. “The acquisition of Pruemer Precison supports our mission and lines up with two of our core values which are customer focus and constant improvement and is a great opportunity for The Equity and its owners,” says Bence.
