Water or ice on the roadway helped cause a crash Monday morning south of Watson.

The crash happened at 7:21am on Illinois Route 37, near the Watson/Mason interstate interchange. Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a SUV driven by 45-year-old Tricia Ort of Mason struck a patch of water or ice under the Canadian National railroad overpass. That caused Ort to lose control of the vehicle, which traveled up the embankment before turning over and rolled back down the embankment. The vehicle came to rest on its side on the roadway.

Ort was hurt and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

No citations were issued.
