Louisville Teen Injured in Crash Over Weekend

A Louisville teen was injured in a crash Friday afternoon.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a car driven by 16-year-old Elizabeth Riddle was southbound on US Route 45 when Riddle lost control of the vehicle. The car traveled off the road into a ditch and then struck a tree.

Riddle was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. She was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.

The crash happened at 2:45pm, a half-mile north of 500th Avenue in Union Township.
