Colorado Man Injured in Fayette County Crash

An Aurora, Colorado man was injured over the weekend in a crash in Fayette County.

State police say 28-year-old Mark P. Mullen was hurt when a box truck pulling a car went off US Route 40 to the right just west of Fayette County Road 100 East. The vehicles traveled 559 feet, then struck a tree head-on.

Mullen, who was driving the box truck pulling the car, was trapped inside the truck and had to be extricated by Mulberry Grove and Vandalia Fire Departments. Air Evac flew Mullen to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. 

The crash happened at 12:29am Sunday. Mullen was cited for improper lane usage.
