Highs in the low to mid 60s will usher in a chance for severe weather later today. Widespread rain across the state is expected to end mi-morning before a chance of thunderstorms the remainder of the day.

The National Weather Service in Lincoln projects storms will develop in west-central Illinois mid-afternoon, and quickly sweep northeast. Large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes are possible, especially north of the listening area.
