One of the best ways to know that Christmas is 'a-comin is one week away.

The annual X- & KJ-A-thon fundraiser is set for December 5th at Premier Broadcasting from 6am-6pm. We hope to fill the semi, donated by Rural King, which will be parked here at the corner of Fayette and Willow. We are looking for items such as new toys, board games, pajama sets, socks, hats, gloves, coats, diapers, and the like. We will also be collecting canned soup and fruits, boxed potatoes, spaghetti and sauce, and other non-perishable food items. Any individual or business donations would be greatly appreciated!  Every donation helps.

Used coats can be dropped off at either Wiedman Cleaners or Guffey’s to be cleaned free of charge during the month of November.

Any donations can also be dropped off in the red totes around town at your convenience. These totes are located at any of the following locations: Wal-Mart, IGA, Save-A-Lot, Branches, Heartland, Effingham Dental, Dollar General, Niemerg's Steak House, Walgreens, Verizon (Keller Drive), New Health Chiropractic, 5/3 Bank, Joe Sipper's Cafe, Effingham County Senior Center, W.S. Broom and Company, Family Video, Rural King, Crossroads Bank (Banker Street), Ron Diehl Center at Hendelmeyer Park,  Workman Center, Title Cash, First National Bank of Waterloo, KeraCutz, Altamont Dollar General, Wrights Furniture (Dieterich), Wright at Home Interiors (Effingham), Altamont Home Center, Dieterich Bank (Teutopolis), and Swagger Salon and Spa.

This event would not be possible without the support of the community. We would like to recognize a number of other area businesses that are collecting toys for the Christmas Store through their own collection efforts. Items can be dropped off at any of the additional locations: Willenborg Dental, Effingham Massage Clinic, and Teutopolis State Bank. We would like to thank the Effingham Public Library for their continued donation of books and also all of the other business conducting internal collections!
