Two People Injured in Crash in Effingham Earlier This Month

Both drivers were injured in a collision on Effingham's north side.

The crash happened at 5:15pm on November 17. Details were released Monday by Effingham City Police.

Police say the crash happened at 1315 North 3rd Street. A vehicle driven by 70-year-old Jane Kortte of Effingham rear-ended a vehicle driven by 59-year-old Kipp Johnson of Effingham.

Police say both drivers were injured; Kortte refused treatment. Johnson was transported by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. 

Kortte was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
