Colorado Resident Hospitalized After Crash Near Effingham

A Colorado resident is hospitalized after a crash near Effingham.

66-year-old Arbra Dorsey of Pueblo, Colorado was eastbound on I-70 near the National Trail Rest Area between Effingham and Altamont just after 1pm Wednesday. State police report Dorsey changed lanes and slowed down rapidly. A following vehicle, driven by 23-year-old Dan Goran of Orlando, Florida, struck Dorsey's vehicle in the rear.

Dorsey's vehicle left the roadway to the right and struck a tree. Goran's vehicle crossed through the median and came to rest in the westbound lanes.

Dorsey was airlifted from the scene to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Dorsey was cited for improper lane usage.
