Good voter turnout is reported across the state on this General Election Day 2018.

Even before Monday numbers could be included, the decision to vote either by mail or in person was outpacing the mark set in the 2014 midtern elections.

The numbers Monday from the State Board of Elections showed that 1,150,335 people had so far cast a ballot. That's a record for a midterm election. More than 1.6 million people voted early in the 2016 presidential election.

Polls are open until 7pm today. The ballot in Effingham County includes statewide races, legislative contests, and county elections.

We will have results tonight on 979XFM and www.979xfm.com. Zak will be posting the numbers online as soon as they become available.
