Effingham Girl Wins Rotary District Writing Contest

Elizabeth "Libby" Fricke from Effingham High School won the Rotary District 6490 Writing Contest.

109 students from 24 high schools entered the competition. Fricke received a $500 cash prize. She was recognized at the recent Rotary District Conference in Bloomington.

Students had four topics from which to choose; Fricke wrote about the impact of service in her life.

Renae Russell of Newton Community High School was one of eight students to receive an honorable mention certificate.
