The continued improvement in the financial picture of the Neoga school district was evidenced at this month's school board meeting.

Corey Brown of Mose, Yockey, Brown and Kull CPAs presented the audit of the past fiscal year. Brown said the Neoga district received a Total Profile score of 3.9 out of 4.0 and earned "Recognition" from the State. The score is a turnaround from a 2.65 score in Fiscal 2014 that earned the district a "warning" from the State. The Board also heard from Superintendent Ben Johnson that the monthly cash flow report indicates that most of the funds are in stable condition, with the exception of the Transportation Fund, since no transportation funding has been received yet from the State.

Neoga Principal Kevin Haarman told Board members that a request has been made by some students and parents to end the 8th grade promotion ceremony at the end of the school year. Eighth graders were surveyed, and 90% of students favored an end of the promotion event, but continuing to have some sort of celebration such as an organized "fun day." The issue will be discussed by the Board at next month's meeting.

The Neoga board approved a snow removal contract with Fuller-Wente; approved a 48-month agreement to purchase electricity from Constellation NewEnergy beginning in December through December 2022.
