A Herrick man has been sentenced to three years in prison for violating his probation.

Shelby County State's Attorney Gina Vonderheide said 21-year-old Ethan Thompson had been placed on four years probation after pleading guilty to three counts of burglary in February.

In those original charges, Thompson was accused of burglaries in Herrick. Police received a tip that Thompson was selling items at a pawn shop in Springfield and Shelby County sheriff's deputies compared the list to items that had been stolen. It was determined that the items were stolen from victims in Herrick.
