EIU Dean Speaks to Noon Rotary

Bill Minnis, the interim dean of the Eastern Illinois University College of Business and Technology, served as guest speaker at the Effingham Noon Rotary meeting October 17.

Minnis said the university is celebrating an increase in enrollment.

The university is excited about 1,488 graduate students representing 52 nations. Studies also indicate that incoming high school graduates have a GPA of 3.15.

Minnis with the university's freshman year to sophomore year retention rate of 75%, compared to the national rate of 70%. He also noted the placement rate for EIU graduates is 94%.

Jeff Bloemker served as Rotary weekly program chairman.
