Statewide, the average temperature was 61.0 degrees, 0.8 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0.95 inches, 0.24 inches above normal. Topsoil moisture supply was rated at 3 percent very short, 15 percent short, 75 percent adequate, and 7 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated at 4 percent very short, 17 percent short, 71 percent adequate, and 8 percent surplus.

Corn mature reached 96 percent, compared to 71 percent last year. Corn harvested was at 48 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 25 percent. Corn condition was rated at 2 percent very poor, 4 percent poor, 14 percent fair, 49 percent good, and 31 percent excellent.
