A car struck a bicycle Saturday night outside Flora.

The incident occurred at 7:46pm on Old Route 50, just east of Airport Road. State police say the bicycle was being ridden by 24-year-old Dallas Harmon of Olney and the car was being driven by 77-year-old Carrol Colclasure of Flora.

Police report both units were traveling eastbound. Colclasure's car struck the bicycle, which did not have any lights on it, ejecting Harmon from the bicycle. Harmon was taken to Clay County Hospital in Flora, then was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, then was transferred to University of Indiana Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Both Harmon and Colclasure were cited; Harmon for operating a bicycle without lighting during nighttime, and Colclasure for operating a motor vehicle with an expired driver's license.
