The 2018 Effingham County Old Settlers Reunion is set for Saturday on the grounds of the Effingham County Courthouse Museum starting at 11am.

Those who attend can enjoy a presentation of the colors by Effingham American Legion Post #120, historical exhibits, the Caledonia fire engine, tractors from Millroad Thresherman Association, free mule wagon rides by Dan Koester and his mules Tom and Jerry, free photos at the cannon courtesy of the Effingham City Tourism Office, free face painting by Jennifer DeWeese, and free music from 1 to 3pm in the gazebo.

Prizes will be awarded for oldest and youngest Old Settlers (those who have lived in Effingham County 30 years or longer are Old Settlers), and to the Old Settler Couple married the longest.

All may sign in and receive an Old Settlers ribbon; those who sign in will be in the drawing for a 2018 membership to the Effingham County Cultural Center and Museum Association.

The Courthouse Museum will be open for you to explore, and free bottled water and cookies will be available to those who sign in.
