Dieterich Woman Found Dead

Local authorities are investigating the death of a rural Dieterich woman.

Effingham County Coroner Kim Rhodes has identified the woman as 24-year-old Taylor Leigh Charles.

Effingham County Sheriff's deputies and the Watson Fire Protection District were dispatched to 5271 N. 1700th Street at about 3:10am Wednesday. The call concerned an unresponsive female in the bathroom of the residence. Authorities found Charles unconscious. Sheriff's deputies administered NARCAN and firefighters performed CPR on the woman. Charles was transported to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham and was later pronounced dead.

The Effingham County Coroner's Office and the Effingham County Sheriff's Office are conducting a joint investigation into the incident. An autopsy was scheduled for today to determine the cause of death.
