Crash Injures Two Thursday in Jackson Township

Two people were injured in a crash Thursday night along US Route 40 in Jackson Township.

The crash happened at 7:09pm at the Dexter Road. Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a minivan driven by 40-year-old Nichole Suckow of Altamont was stopped in traffic on Route 40, waiting to turn south onto Dexter Road, when the minivan was rear-ended by a car driven by 17-year-old Kevin J. Miller of Altamont.

Both drivers were injured; Suckow was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, while Miller refused treatment.

Miller was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
