Two Injured in Friday Crash at Heartville

Two people were injured in a single-vehicle crash at Heartville during the noon hour Friday.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department report the crash occurred on 875th Avenue at Meadowview Road at 12:24pm. A car driven by 28-year-old Matthew Probst of Effingham ran off the roadway and struck the ditch, then overturned, coming to rest on its top.

Probst and his passenger, 25-year-old Sarah Probst of Effingham, were injured and were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Matthew Probst was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
