One Killed, Three Injured in Marion County Crash

One person was killed and three others were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday night in Marion County.

The crash happened at 9:16pm on US Route 50 at Omega Road, a mile north of Iuka.

State police say a car driven by 91-year-old William Borcherding of Iuka failed to yield at Route 50 and pulled into the path of a car driven by 32-year-old Megan Hays of Salem.

Borcherding was killed in the crash. Hays was injured, as was her passenger, an eight-year-old girl from Salem, and Borcherding's passenger, 83-year-old Erma Rose Borcherding of Iuka. Hays and Erma Rose Borcherding were airlifted to St. Louis University Hospital, while the eight-year-old was airlifted to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in St. Louis.

No charges were filed.
