Pedestrian Killed When Struck by Pickup in Fayette County

A Utah man walking on the roadway was struck and killed by a pickup truck in Fayette County Friday morning.

State police report 38-year-old Paul Medina of Tooele, Utah, was walking eastbound in the eastbound lane of traffic on US Route 40, three miles west of Vandalia, at 6:16am when Medina was struck. 

Medina was taken to Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the pickup truck, 37-year-old Nathaniel Hebenstreit of Mulberry Grove, was not injured.

No citations were issued.
