Motorcycle Accident Involving Deer Near Beecher City

A motorcycle accident involving a deer happened early Wednesday morning near Beecher City.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports the incident occurred at 1am on Moccasin Road, just west of 150th Street on the west end of the county.

Deputies report 24-year-old Kendrick Jackson of Beecher City was headed east when he saw a deer run across the road in front of him. Jackson slammed on his brakes and lost control of the cycle, which slid into a ditch.

Jackson was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

No citations were issued.
