Further Delay in Fayette County Murder Case

The date of a Fayette County murder case has again been pushed back.

24-year-old Alexander Beccue of St. Peter is charged with two counts of first degree murder in last August's shooting death of Joshua Smith of Ramsey. Beccue also faces counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of a weapon by a felon.

Beccue was scheduled to go on trial on August 20, but evidence gathering is still going on. Judge Don Sheafor Tuesday agreed to continue the jury trial to January 14. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for October 2.

Beccue is being held under $1 million bond.
