Some Information Available on 4-Wheeler Incident at Jewett

A girl was injured in a four-wheeler incident in Jewett.

Cumberland County Sheriff Steve Ozier said two girls were riding the four-wheeler on Railroad Street just after 9:30am Thursday when the unit ran off the road into a ditch. Ozier said the passenger jumped off and clear of the vehicle, but the operator fell off the back. Emergency crews feared the girl hit her head so had the girl airlifted to a Champaign hospital for treatment.

Ozier declined to release the name of the injured girl due to her age. He did not know her condition.
