Beecher City Corn Fest Today Thru Sunday

The 2018 Beecher City Corn Fest kicks off a three-day run today.

Registration is underway for the parade, which will take place Saturday at 10am; lineup starts at 9am. The parade will begin at Miller's Ag Supply on North Charles Street in Beecher City and end in Community Park.

The celebration opens tonight with the Tri-County Firefighters' Fish Fry from 5 to 8:30pm. A volleyball tourney, live music by "Backyard Boogie" and lawn mower races are also on tap tonight.

Saturday will feature a full day of activities. In addition to the parade, there will be a corn shucking contest, kids greasy pig and fishing rodeo contests, home run derby, kids power wheels demo derby and more. A highlight of Saturday evening will be the Corn Fed King Pageant and live music by the "Feudin Hillbillys".

Following a community church service, Sunday afternoon events include live music by "Big Spike Hammer", a tot rod pedal tractor pull, pitching contest, bingo and mud obstacle course.
