The Effingham Community School District #40 has announced the following school registration information for the 2018-19 school year:

Effingham Unit 40 School District is excited to announce an online student registration for the 2018-2019 school year, powered by PowerSchool’s InfoSnap. The system is a secure and green process, which allows the district to verify all student demographic, emergency, and medical information for your child prior to the start of the year. The system will also allow you to electronically sign the annual permission forms for school district policies. In short, this online process replaces all the hard copy student registration and permission forms that you have filled out in the past at our annual August registration.

Each returning Unit 40 student will receive a letter/email from the Effingham Unit 40 School District providing instructions on how to access the system for your students. The letter and email contain a link, instructions, and a secure “snapcode” that links directly to your student’s information. You may also access the online registration process from the link posted in the Registration Section of our website: www.effingham.k12.il.us You will be prompted to create an account and submit a form for each student in the family. To make the process easier for families with multiple students, you will have the option to copy all generic family information to all other students in the family after submitting your first student.

Upon receiving the letter/email, please complete the registration process as soon as possible. Please remember that for new preschool and kindergarten students, parents will upload a copy of their children’s birth certificate, physical shot record, vision screening, and dental form. Parents of sixth graders, freshmen, and seniors will also have to upload current physicals and shot records. It would be helpful to have these forms nearby when completing the process. Each student’s registration will not be complete until the forms have been submitted.

Students who are new to Effingham Unit #40 may call Michelle at (217) 540-1100. After receiving basic information, you will be given a “snapcode” enabling you to complete the registration process.

During the online registration process, parents will have the opportunity to create an account with MySchoolbucks.com. Through this account, parents will be able to pay registration fees, deposit money into your child’s lunch account, and pay for P.E. clothes. You also have the option of paying fees and lunch money at the Unit #40 Board of Education office or at your child’s school.

Families who do not have access to the Internet may contact Effingham High School at (217) 540-1100 to schedule an appointment to utilize the school’s computers to complete the process. If you have additional questions, please contact Kevin McKenna at (217) 540-1529 or email him at mckennak@u40gw.effingham.k12.il.us.
