Two people were arrested, but two others are still being sought in connection with an alleged burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle in Coles County.

The incident began at 8:12pm Monday when Mattoon police were called to CVS Pharmacy in Mattoon regarding two male subjects stealing alcohol from the store. Video surveillance footage showed the two males, and a description of the vehicle in which they were traveling. At about 9:19pm, Charleston police located the vehicle on Illinois Route 16 between Charleston and Mattoon and attempted to stop the vehicle. The suspects fled from police, though, and Charleston police terminated the pursuit.

The vehicle continued towards Mattoon, where Mattoon police located the vehicle turning north onto Lerna Road. A short pursuit by Mattoon police then ensued, but was quickly terminated due to the suspect vehicle's high rate of speed. The vehicle continued northbound and crashed at a curve just north of DeWitt on Illinois Route 316. Police responded and observed the occupants fleeing the scene on foot. In the meantime, police learned that the suspect vehicle was listed as stolen out of Chicago.

Following a search, Mattoon police located the two males from the vehicle, one being 24-year-old Seantrez Isom of Chicago, at BP Gas Station on Miller Road in Mattoon. Isom and the other suspect, a 16-year-old, were arrested at 2:44am Tuesday. Isom and the juvenile were taken to Mattoon Police Department, where they were charged with burglary to CVS and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Police learned during interviews with the suspects that there was allegedly a third male and a female who were also in the vehicle prior to it crashing. Their names are not yet known. The photo shown is of the third male involved in the incident. Contact Mattoon Police at 217-235-5451 if you have more information about the incident or the suspects.
