Both Sides Term Tuesday Bargaining Session "Productive"

Both sides involved in the talks on a new contract for Unit 40 teachers termed Tuesday's bargaining session "productive".

Unit 40 Superintendent Mark Doan said the session, which began at 10am and lasted until mid-afternoon, left both sides optimistic about reaching agreement on a contract.

Effingham High School teacher Jeff Schafer, a member of the teacher bargaining team, said, "We had some productive meetings with good discussions. We're optimistic we can work together to reach a fair agreement."

The next bargaining session is set for 10am on June 25.
