Jim Arndt's departure date as Effingham City Administrator has been finalized.

Arndt, who is leaving to become City Manager of Paducah, Kentucky, has resigned as city administrator in Effingham effective June 30. However, Mayor Jeff Bloemker said Arndt has paid time off through July.

Arndt's contract with Effingham required 60 days' notice prior to his departure, but Bloemker said the City Council agreed to 30 days' notice, instead.

The mayor said the Council has discussed in closed session the plans to choose Arndt's successor and who will fill his shoes until that successor is chosen. The plans will be announced in the near future.

Arndt is Effingham's first full-time city administrator.
