Fire Totals Vandalia Restaurant

An overnight fire has totaled a restaurant in downtown Vandalia.

The fire destroyed Capitol View Steakhouse at 401 West Gallatin. Vandalia firefighters were called to the scene at 11:07pm Monday. 

There was also fire damage at the business next door at 401 West Gallatin, Vandalia Mutual Insurance Agency.

Firefighters called Brownstown firefighters for assistance. Firefighters were on scene for six hours.

No one was injured. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
