The Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation (ISPHF) is hosting the Ultimate Road Rally (URR) on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 pm at 2nd Street and Monroe in Springfield.

The URR is a group of passionate car enthusiasts and was established first and foremost to give back to those in need. The URR recently began assisting the Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation (ISPHF) to assist with the building of the ISP Memorial Park which is currently under construction in Springfield. The ISP Memorial Park is being built to honor ISP officers who died in the line of duty and the families impacted by the loss of their loved one.

“This event provides an enjoyable experience for our participants while raising donations for a deserving charity,” said ISP Merit Board Director Jack Garcia. “We believe this unique and proven format places URR in a class of its own.”

The URR recently raised over $100,000.00 for Cal's Angels, a local pediatric cancer charity designed to assist those patients and their families. The URR support enables Cal's Angles to grant pediatric cancer patients wishes and research. The URR was honored to provide the Cal's Angels families a "ride wish" and provide them rides in the special vehicle of their choice.

The URR is normally an invitation only event that combines teamwork, exotic cars and challenging missions focused around their home base of Chicago. However, this event stop will be open to the public. This URR event will consist of 36 exotic cars, 36 drivers, 36 co-drivers and 10 support members, with a total of 82 people that will be driving 1500 miles over the course of 3 days, touching 7 states. Each team will have missions and challenges to complete as they drive the route using maps and directions. The team who successfully completes within the time limit and has the most points will be Ultimate Road Rally champions.

It is important to note that URR is NOT A RACE, winners are decided by how well they compete and are successful at each challenge as a team. URR’s specially designed website app delivers each team's mission(s), along with keeping track of their positions while creating motivation for each team to stick together and follow the rules.
