Missouri Man Killed in Crash Outside Effingham

A St. Charles, Missouri resident was killed Wednesday morning in a crash outside Effingham.

State Police report the man was 72-year-old George William Stillman. Stillman was traveling west on I-70 about a mile west of town when for unknown reasons he turned around his pickup truck in a median turnaround and headed back east. Stillman lost control of the pickup and ran off into a ditch on the south side of the interstate. The pickup truck overturned multiple times, ejecting Stillman from the vehicle.

Effingham County Coroner Kim Rhodes pronounced Stillman dead at the scene.

The crash happened at 10:50am Wednesday.
