Cruise Night in Effingham is Friday Night

Friday night is Cruise Night in Effingham,

Cruise Night is a re-enactment of the days downtown when the big activity on Friday and Saturday nights in Effingham was cruising downtown to see who else was out and about.

One change from previous Cruise Night events is the cruise route will be in place starting at 5pm, rather than 6pm. Streets will be re-opened by 10pm. A reminder that during the event there will be two-way traffic on Jefferson, a change from the usual rules.

The Thursday Thunder group is again sponsoring the Cruise Night. Some will be set up downtown. Here's the list:

Goeckner Brothers--on 5th Street north of Jefferson Avenue to the alley

Owen Motorsports--on Banker Street north of Jefferson Avenue to the alley

Northside Ford--in the parking lot on the southwest corner of 4th and Jefferson

Legacy RV and Legacy Harley Davidson--on 4th Street south of Jefferson to the alley

Car Corral and Dan Hecht Chevrolet/Toyota--on 5th Street south of Jefferson to the alley

Dust and Son--at their location at Banker and Fayette

Hi-Boy sandwiches will be available on the Courthouse lawn for as long as they last. The Effingham Police Department will be cooking along Jefferson west across from Baseball Card Connection as a fundraiser.

A reminder that 979XFM will be playing cruise music Friday night.
