Two juveniles have been arrested for allegedly setting fire to a garage in Brownstown.

Fayette County Sheriff Chris Smith said a 10-year-old from Brownstown and a 15-year-old from Indianapolis were arrested on counts of arson, criminal damage to property, criminal trespass to real property, and disorderly conduct. The incident occurred Monday night at a garage at an abandoned house at 2nd and Poplar in Brownstown.

Brownstown firefighters responded and quickly had the fire under control.

The juveniles initially were taken to the Madison County Juvenile Detention Facility but have since been released to their parents.

Smith wanted to thank members of the public who were quick to alert deputies of information leading to the juveniles' arrest.
