Seth Schuler has been chosen the next superintendent of the Cowden-Herrick school district.

Schuler, who is currently serving as Cowden-Herrick High School principal, will succeed Darrell Gordon, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

The Cowden-Herrick board also ratified a three-year contract with the Cowden-Herrick Teachers Association. The agreement will cover each of the next three years.

The Board also voted to retain Junior Carlisle as bus mechanic for the coming year; appointed Mike Myers as representative on the Eastern Illinois Area Special Education Board; accepted Jeremy Rinkel's resignation as junior high cross country coach; granted permission for a student currently expelled to attend high school graduation with parental supervision; and accepted the resignation of Shelli Cotton as junior high cheer coach.
