Governor, DCEO Announces Infrastructure Grants

Governor Bruce Rauner and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity have announced the recipients of block grants for public infrastructure.

36 communities will receive federal funds totaling $14.5 million.

Area recipients:

In Cumberland County--Village of Greenup $170,000 for new water main distribution and appurtenances...Cottonwood Township--$500,000 for water distribution improvements

In Effingham County--Village of Watson $103,425 for sanitary sewer improvements...Watson Township $500,000 for water distribution improvements...City of Effingham $500,000 for water distribution improvements

In Fayette County--City of St. Elmo $500,000 for water distribution improvements...Village of Ramsey $500,000 for sanitary sewer improvements...Fayette County $500,000 for new water main distribution and appurtenances

In Jasper County--Village of Willow Hill $144,900 for replacing a lift station and upgrading a sewer lagoon

In Shelby County--Clarksburg Township $500,000 for water distribution improvements
