Olney Woman Gets 10 Years in Federal Prison for Meth Offenses

Olney resident Vickie L. Sanders was sentenced Wednesday to 120 months in federal prison for methamphetamine-related offenses, according to Donald S. Boyce, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois. Sanders will serve eight years' mandatory supervised release once out of prison.

The 57-year-old Sanders previously pleaded guilty to six counts in a federal indictment. Count 1 charged that from on or about 2015, until on or about April 21, 2017, in Richland County, Sanders and co-defendant Kylee D. Black of Olney conspired with others known and unknown to the Grand Jury to knowingly and intentionally manufacture fifty (50) grams or more of methamphetamine. Count 2 charged that on April 21, 2017, in Richland County, Sanders knowingly and intentionally attempted to manufacture a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine. Counts 3-6 charged that Sanders and Black knowingly and intentionally possessed Pseudoephedrine knowing that it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine. The dates involved were December 21, 2016 (Count 3), December 15, 2015 (Count 4), September 30, 2015 (Count 5), and April 3, 2015 (Count 6).

The 37-year-old Black was previously sentenced to 168 months’ imprisonment.
