(A GROUP CONSISTING OF TEACHERS, RETIRED TEACHERS, STUDENTS AND THE PUBLIC GATHERED OUTSIDE TUESDAY AT THE START OF CONTRACT TALKS)

Bargainers for the Effingham Unit 40 Board of Education and the Effingham Classroom Teachers Association met Tuesday night, but failed to reach a contract agreement.

The bargaining session began at 5:30pm, and ran until after 9pm at the Unit offices.

No word on when another session will take place.

Both the Unit 40 teachers and support staff employees are seeking contract agreements with the Board.
