A former Effingham Unit 40 teacher has died at her home in Douglas County in what was apparently an accident.

Christine Killion was a teacher in the Villa Grove school district, but taught in Unit 40 from the 2006-2007 school year through the 2013-2014 school year. She was 38.

Douglas County Sheriff's Department said that they don't yet know the cause of death, but said there is no indication of foul play and no indication that the death was self-inflicted.

The Killions live in Camargo.

Joines Funeral Home in Villa Grove is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
