Two semis were involved in an accident at 10:44am Tuesday, blocking eastbound I-70.

State police say one rig, that didn't stop, swerved into the driving lane of the interstate and, according to one witness, possibly made contact with a rig in that lane. The second semi, driven by 55-year-old Dennis Adu Okyere of Los Angeles, California, ran off onto the right shoulder of the roadway, then came back onto the roadway where it overturned, blocking both eastbound lanes of traffic.

The first rig left the scene without reporting the crash.

Okyere was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Both eastbound lanes of I-70, about three miles east of Effingham, were closed for approximately 30 minutes.
