At 6:27 Friday night a car driven by Brianna K. Morton, 21, of Champaign, was traveling northbound in the left lane of I-57 approximatley one mile south of Neoga. While trying to execute a lane change into the right lane, the car struck the rear driver's side of a car operated by Katie A. Reis, 23, of Naperville, which was already occupying the right lane.

The collision caused the Reis vehicle to skid off the roadway into the median, striking several wooden crash posts, and then overturned before coming to rest on its top in the southbound lanes of traffic.

Morton also lost control of her vehicle and entered the center median, striking the embankment in the median before coming to rest in median.

Reis was transported by ambulance to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon for treatment of minor injuries.

Morton was cited by Illinois State Police for Improper Lane Usage.
