Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle on Effingham's North End

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Effingham Wednesday.

The incident happened just after 10:30pm at Pilot Travel Center at 2500 North 3rd Street. 

City police report a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Manuel Martinez of Effingham struck 65-year-old Thomas Lang of Spring Valley. Lang was taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital.

No citations were issued.
