Rauner, Ives Both Expected Sunday at Lincoln Day Dinner

Both Governor Bruce Rauner and State Representative Jeanne Ives are scheduled to speak at Sunday's Effingham County Republican Central Committee Lincoln Day Dinner.

Ives filed for the Republican nomination after Rauner signed House Bill 40 into law concerning abortion funding.

The event will be held at the Carriage House Event Center in Altamont. A social hour will begin at noon. Rauner is slated to speak at 12:45pm, then Ives at 1pm. No exchange is scheduled between the two candidates.

The meal will be served at 1:15pm, with further speakers to follow. Those will include County Treasurer candidates Sheila Braun and Paula Miller; 109th District State Representative candidates David Reis and Darren Bailey; 107th District State Representative hopefuls Blaine Wilhour and Laura Myers; 54th District State Senate candidates Jason Plummer, Rafael Him, George Barber and Ben Stratemeyer; State Treasurer candidate Jim Dodge; Secretary of State hopeful Jason Helland; and Appellate Judge candidate David Overstreet.
